Inspiring the Next Generation: Perfect Circle Volunteers at Dartford Grammar School

As part of our commitment to social value and building strong communities, Perfect Circle was delighted to support recent events at Dartford Grammar School, designed to introduce students to careers in the built environment and inspire the next generation of industry leaders.
On 4 July, a full-day design and careers workshop was delivered to over 180 Year 11 and 12 students. Organised in collaboration with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, the event included career talks, group activities and one-on-one conversations that introduced students to the diverse range of pathways into the construction and infrastructure sectors. Students heard directly from professionals across multiple disciplines - including engineering, architecture, project management and sustainability.

Year 7 students spent the day with consultants from the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, taking part in a fast-paced, hands-on design competition. After an introduction to Ebbsfleet Garden City - a major regeneration project bringing new homes, schools, and infrastructure to the Dartford area - students were challenged to design a poster for key aspects of the Development with an emphasis on accessibility, sustainability and visual impact.
The result was a vibrant day of creativity, curiosity and collaboration. Congratulations to 7C Vaughan, whose animal-friendly redesign won top marks from the judging panel!
“It was fantastic to see how engaged and imaginative the students were throughout both events,” said Nicola Thompson, Head PC Management at Perfect Circle. “We’re passionate about creating opportunities for young people to explore the built environment, not just as a place they live, but as a sector where they can thrive. Days like this show just how powerful early engagement can be in shaping future careers.”

Students also had the opportunity to ask questions of the consultants and professionals who have helped bring Ebbsfleet Garden City to life, gaining valuable insights into real-life project delivery and the varied roles within the industry.
Thank you to Lara Pool and the team at Ebbsfleet Development Corporation for their support, and to Dartford Grammar School for hosting such forward-thinking and well-organised sessions.
