Team in Focus | Hatfield Interiors

Hatfield Interiors is a specialist SME designing and delivering Interiors furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E). The company has 12 dedicated team members, and big ambitions to make a difference, and as a Perfect Circle supply chain partner, the business has found a vital route into the public sector, opening doors that would have otherwise found more difficult to open.
“My experience has been very positive,” says Lawrence Brenchley, Managing Director. “As an SME offering a niche service, we are usually part of a larger project team. Due to procurement rules, the route to market can be more complicated with public sector organisations.
“But through Perfect Circle, and our relationship with Principal Partner Pick Everard, we’ve had the opportunity to showcase our expertise and work directly with clients.”
Traditionally, Hatfield Interiors would be introduced to a project through an architect or main contractor, sometimes with limited time for end user client engagement. With Perfect Circle, the business has secured work more easily and established direct client relationships - a game-changer for future opportunities.

“Being under Pick Everard’s wing on projects like the Wootton Lower School in Bedfordshire has given us a foot in the door,” .
“Working directly with the client not only improves project design and delivery but also opens the door to future work, something that’s incredibly valuable for a business like ours.”
The strong communication and support from champions like Sean Conneely and John Clarke at Pick Everard have been instrumental. “They’ve effectively communicated what we do to new clients and championed us throughout,” Lawrence adds. “The communication between us and Perfect Circle has been excellent too.”
Specialising in the education sector (which makes up 60% of their work), Hatfield Interiors did find it challenging to access public sector clients. Perfect Circle has helped them reach organisations like Bedfordshire County Council and Buckinghamshire County Council, opening vital new markets.
“The fees are competitive, and the exposure to new clients is invaluable,” Lawrence says. “Perfect Circle is helping us build our profile and secure work that SMEs like us would normally find more difficult with other frameworks.
Lawrence strongly recommends Perfect Circle to other SMEs looking for a way into the public sector. “Perfect Circle has given us a route to market we simply wouldn’t have got otherwise,” he says. “When we’ve applied to other frameworks, it is more difficult because many of them focus more on post contract tender opportunities instead of pre contract where we can add more value.
“Perfect Circle is different, they engage, support, and create real opportunities at this stage.”
Looking ahead, Lawrence highlights the importance of continued networking and building stronger connections between supply chain partners and framework partners. “It’s important for supply chain partners to network regularly to raise awareness of their services, Perfect Circle encourages partners to be more receptive to these connections, and we have benefited from this greatly.”
