Career History
'Having studied Architecture at the University of Nottingham, I began my career in façade engineering consultancy and have since worked across both design and construction environments. My experience spans technical delivery, business development and contractor engagement, providing a well-rounded understanding of the façade sector.
This combination of consultancy and industry experience has developed particular strengths in technical coordination and specification development'.
Career Highlight
'Delivering the façade package PCSA for Soho Place, a flagship mixed-use Derwent London development above Tottenham Court Road Elizabeth Line and London Underground infrastructure.
The scheme incorporated more than 30 wall types, including unitised curtain walling, stone cladding, stainless steel cladding and large projecting anodised fins'.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
'Leading teams, winning exciting projects and helping clients solve complex technical challenges'.
What does a typical day look like?
'My days are varied and typically involve business development, client engagement, fee proposals, technical delivery, team leadership and collaboration with colleagues across our international offices. A key part of my role is promoting and growing façade engineering both within Stantec and externally across the industry'.
How much of your workload includes Perfect Circle commissions?
'I am currently supporting the delivery of a large public sector framework project with another Perfect Circle partner and look forward to developing further opportunities across the Perfect Circle network'.
What do you like most about your role?
'Delivering successful projects and collaborating with experts from different disciplines to solve complex challenges'.
If you could switch jobs with someone, who would it be?
'A football pundit, talking about football all day would be ideal!'
What is your biggest achievement to date?
'Professionally, building and leading a growing façade engineering team has been particularly rewarding.
Personally, my greatest achievement is raising two children with my wife, who is also an engineer.'
Tell us a guilty pleasure that others would be surprised to find out?
'I'm partial to a negroni at the end of the working week!'
